"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - Saint Augustine
That's all Folks!
We wake early the day of departure. Some have extended their stay by visiting other parts of Portugal - the Alfama, Sintra. Some are remaining in Porto. Others are traveling to different countries. But we are flying home. We have an early flight so we arranged with concierge for a taxi to pick us up. We climb in, looking out the car window at our last glimpse of this beautiful country. During dinner last night, Cristina quoted St. Augustine and we can't help but reflect on these words and those of Mary McCarthy, as we head home. "Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue." Portugal is all that and so much more. It has been an incredible journey and we are richer for having visited her.
Fale em portugues, por favor
Today's word is Obrigado/a = Thank you (pronounced oh-bree-gah-doo/ah)

Did you know ... In Portuguese, the masculine/feminine of the word applies to who is doing the speaking. So a man would say, "Obrigado," regardless of who he is thanking; a woman would say, "Obrigada".
